The tallest tower in Riyadh - Kingdom Tower

AL-URUBAH, Riyadh - Walking in the city after a day of work is the best way to ease the emotional-killing homesickness…it was an extremely cold late night walk in the city of Riyadh where the tallest skyscrapper in Saudi Arabia is located - the Kingdom Tower. With a height of 992 ft., it is considered the 37th tallest building in the world. The total cost of the project was 1.717 billion riyals and is situated in Al-Urubah between King Fahd Road and Olaya Street in the growing business district of Olaya in Riyadh. Kingdom Centre was the winner of the 2002 Emporis Skyscrapper Award, selected as the Best New Skyscrapper Of The Year for design and functionality.

Kababayans caught by the furious sand storm

It was both an enormous experience gazing at the tallest tower in Riyadh while scufflin' the coldness of the night outside and the sudden occurence of the sand storm which caught us breathless and defenseless. Just imagine the chiils and the gust of the infuriating sand storm striking the softness of our plae and soft skins in the middle of the busy and car-chasing streets in Riyadh.

Fogginess brood outside in the storming city

According to some Pinoy friends here who already experienced the fury of the sand storm, it is the beginning of the extreme and the mammothed chillness that will come about in the months of December 'till February, after the storm there will be a colossal assail of four consecutive weight and heavy chilly rainfall…remarkably amazing, right?
