IT’S Sunday once again and I need to reorganize things intended for the day before the coming moment that will take place more significantly. She’s miles away and I’m standing all alone here waging war against stressing work she left behind. Its really a hard-hitting day for us husband all alone in the house with a 4-year old super-kulit son and an extra-cute months-old baby without our precious loved one sweating domestic works overseas to patch more of the financial condition of the family. ‘Ika nga pare kong brod mahirap maging tatay na nanay, got to do your best shot or be a superhero you can for the kids.
Not to mention doing the laundries, cleaning the house, cooking for my son and of course the macho tasks in palengke, ang tumawad-tawad para makatipid. Needless to say, in the house chore is the most macho thing to do, ang magpa-suso. It’s good thing they invented bottles, or else I let someone to do it for my baby, sino kaya? Perhaps, I should tell my wife to remit more cash in order for me to look for someone to do the breast milking for our baby. Probably, I’ll post a Sunday ad looking for a perfect someone with tasty milk that will go well with my baby’s pihikan taste. One thing more importantly, she should possess good morals, stupendous personality and of course, she must be fine-looking, bahala na kung mag-selos si kumander, after all it’s all for the sake of our baby’s wellness and goodness.
At any rate, I need to take our little and cutey angel to her babysitter before we go together with my makulit to the nearest PC rental shop for a tube date with his mom through web. Over again, its fine thing they invented internet, we husband have the chance to see how still gorgeous our dear ones, even though miles away we can still put across our sweetness and caring. If you want you can make it more special like bringing flowers and gifts. Or perhaps hire someone who can do harana for your wife. Never mind the jologs that will really chuckle-to-death when you accomplish it for your only one, at least you just express how special her day is, a birthday greeting miles away. Kaya naman, next time try to acquire a PC for yourself so you can carry out whatsoever you want in private, at hindi na naka-broadcast outside, para ka tuloy jologs.
Fool To Cry
AT this moment, I’m all alone once again, in an barren room for me missing and thinkin’ of my courageous other half battling homesickness and of course aloneness with her cherished ones. Isn’t it heroic for other Pinays who have the same situation similar to us?
‘Ba, ‘di biro ang malayo sa mahal mo sa buhay, but the consideration of course, mapapabuti naman ang financial status of the family. Kaya naman, I have the right to say, that both of us can be consider heroes, am I right? I supposedly, dahil pareho kaming nagsasa-sacrifice. Kaya kayong mga househusbands out there, be proud mga p’re kong tatay na nanay, ‘ika nga pa-konswelo na lang sa ating pag-iisa, if I know tears are about to fall if you really miss your precious ones in a distant country. At any rate, ang isipin mo na lang, that your partner is so lucky out there. Imagine she can afford to buy signatured clothes, while us here can only afford signatured clothes sa ukay-ukay nga lang.
Imagine her dining with authentic Chinese cuisine, the appetizing dimsum, the delectable hot pot shabu-shabu, while us here are fine with the instant noodles flavored with bits of veggies bought for only 10 bucks a plastic and of course some kikiam. Kasi nga, austerity programs are on the rise. We both need to have an extensive savings for the children, kaya nga she’s out there doing something significantly nice ‘di ba? And more, we need to purchase for our own PC, para naman ‘di me magmukha jologs when she needs to see her dear and beloved ones, buti na lang may-chat.

OVER the years, radio remains to be a powerful device for communication and an indispensable medium for information, advertising and entertainment. Why radio? Radio obviously is so affordable, convenient and movable. Anybody can have a radio even though massive means of state-of-the-art technology dominates in the business.
For more than three years now, the most loved radio station Kabayan Radio bid its final hurrah in the international airwaves, hearsays and blathers roam of its coming to operate once again. Sad to say, even the shadow of the most liked station on no account did not flicker in the lost. Thus, the new station brings to life – the dawn of the new Pinoy Overseas sa Aksyon Radyo.
As for program contents, the people behind Aksyon Radyo, 1161 khz, is talking at close range with Manila Broadcasting Company regarding DZRH and Love Radio. Other program contents are programs best suited for the market or what are and most in-demand in the target market. At this point, Pinoy Overseas sa Aksyon Radyo, most important quest is for the goodness and satisfaction of all Overseas Filipino Workers in every part of the world.

 HAVIN’ a good life is akin to eating good food, and when it comes to good food Pinoys abroad really hunger after for our own cuisine and there’s no question about that. Imagine your miles and miles away from your native land and for how many years you haven’t eaten one of Pinoys magnificently-terrific cuisine such as mouth-watering adobong baboy and superb seafood dish sinigang na bangus.
Sounds really lip-smacking, right? If you can’t get hold on to your stomach at this instant, kabayan, I know a place where you can give pleasure to your superficially desires on Pinoy cuisine, go and backpack your things and look for the Kainan sa Won-Won located at 2nd floor, Chung Shan North Road, Section 3, Won-Won Building, Taipei City.
Ate Guy, hailed by her cohorts, is one great successful Pinay-married-to-Taiwanese who is productively having the best of her life cooking for her kababayan great Pinoy dishes that will clinch the notion of “pati pangalan makakalimutan sa sobrang sarap ng luto”.
Ate Guy is Florence Wang in real name and the sole possessor of the booming carenderia that started way back in June 19, 2000, “Dati dry goods and phone cards ang binebenta ko, then nag-switch sa karenderia,” reveals ate Florence who is a certified Noranian. Ilan lang yan sa mga luto niya meron ding pakbet, ginisang ampalaya, bopis, pritong isda, palabok, spaghetti, sopas, ginataan monggo, tortang-talong, menudo at marami pang iba,” she enjoyable informs.
Sundays and special occasions are the tough and stressing days both for Rose and ate Lisa, a valiant and modest ate Guy’s assistant cook. “Minsan marami pang order si ate ‘pag may okasyon tulad ng birhtday at ‘pag may mga party kaya halos ‘di na ‘yan makaundagaga sa pagluluto. Definitely don’t sprint onward to Ate Vi’s Sari-Sari store every Monday, you’ll absolutely never find her because that is her own spare time taking her laurels and splendor rests. Unlike ate Guy, a proud Kapuso ate Vi is not quite a good cook but she’s unquestionably a cool and groovy salesperson most especially when it comes in marketing numerous kind of telecommunication cards as well as gadgets and its accessories.  AUGUST 28, 2001, when I started to lay a hand on their lives by the humblest way of what they called the primordial way of broadcasting through a sub carrier audio (SCA) of the regular FM signal and was being utilized for regular broadcast like any other FM station in Taiwan, particularly in Taipei City. Touching the lives of what we hailed as the new living heroes of our time – the Overseas Filipino Workers, to the most commonly praised moniker – Ang Bagong Bayani.
Certainly, ang mga Bagong Bayani whom I gave half of my life’s full purpose serving them through my radio programs, MusikaBayan and Pinoy Power. Acknowledge it or not, with that humble start I become their most loved and dear Kuya Rens on the air, and for more than three years we share all the smiles we can share, all the laughter’s we can laugh and all the caring we can give. After all these years, those memories keep on coming back. Haunting me more like a whisper and telling me to pick-up all the pieces we left behind, telling me more like to draw to a close what we all started…
As far as the reminiscences set off, it all started with hesitancy, whether I’m going to be a part of what I know will become a major obligation, thus more of responsibilities, serving strangers miles away. It took days of confusion, weeks of disappointments and afterwards, months of unforgettable memories among us.
Memories that absolutely will not fade away as I walk back again in the ground I once become Kuya Rens now with much more hesitation than before, and thoughts of quitting up and same old question pops…should I continue or should I walk off?
Once again, the biggest commitment and huge responsibilities lie in waiting, and thoughts of stepping down persist. My sympathy becomes vulnerable when I consider their lonesomeness and lack of correspondence, their hopelessness and nights of depression.
Furthermore, when I remember those days of giving them laughter ‘till they cried and fainted, and when I used to bring out engaging smiles out from their days of blues and solitude, and when I used to share bouncy happiness out from their weaknesses, my heart cracks into pieces and question like this pop, why should I let those happiness ends? While that question keeps on circling around my mind…the song we used to sing together alarm me down…”all my life, without a doubt I’ll give you all my life, now and forever ‘till the day I die, you and I will share…”
Now my heart melts, as if there’s still one good and big reason to step back again into that huge responsibilities, up and goes the rub-a-dub inside my heart and tells…that’s it!
After all these years, sila pa rin pala ang mundong gagalawan ko. Sila pa rin pala ang bubuhay ng kasiyahan ko. Sila pa rin pala ang malaking purposes ko sa buhay, after all these years, their still the one I live for…ang mga bagong bayani sa buhay ko.
From this point to that, from those years up to the coming years, kaibigan, muli kong inihahandog sa inyo ang mga ngiti sa labi at galak sa puso, ngayon at sa darating pang mga araw ng pagsasama…long live the laughter and sweet smiles…mabuhay kayong mga bagong bayani!!!
Sa muli nating pagsasama, nawa ay umani pa tayong lahat ng mga ala-alang hindi malilimutan, dumating man ang panahon na muli itong tuldukan ay muli’t-muli tayong magsasama hanggang sa pagpikit ng aking mga mata… without a doubt I’ll give you all my life, now and forever ‘till the day I die, you and I will share…”
