I Love You, Because

TAOYUAN HSIEN, Taiwan - Love poem by Jun Sanchez and lovingly dedicated to his sweetheart. Jun Sanchez with a #0930303357 and is presently member of Samahang Makata, International - Taiwan Chapter and currently residing at #70 Nanshang Rd. 350 Lane, Kweisan, Taoyuan Hsien, Taiwan.

I love you because, you're so beautiful. Something you possess that I admire the most. You're the only one that I adore. To appreciate and cherish forever.

I love you because, you give me hope. You accept my love and all what I am. You're so sincere and down to earth. You are with me and always on my mind.

I love you because, you're words touch my heart. Your kindness and smile really turn me on. Sometimes you make me happy, sometimes sad. You can drive me crazy, I don't know why.

I love you because, you believe in me. Honestly binds our hearts all the time. Assurance of love, trust and faithfulness. You give me confidence and peace of mind.

I love you because, you're so thoughtful. You are strong, you support my weaknesses. When we argue, you show humbleness that makes me love you even more.

I love you because of what you are. God has made you part of my life and I just love you because, without you now, my life is worthless.

THE heat is on…it's on the street…the heat is…(drum beat) on! Tananana-nan, tananana-nan…So goes the lyrics from the song popularized by Kenny Loggins way back in 1984 and was used as soundtrack to Eddie Murphy's American comedy film Beverly Hills Cop. Summer heat is really on and everybody is feelin' its ouch and freakin' its aching prick, so as the resurrection of the reklamadors. The march a la Edsa Revolt of the never ending complains from the resurrected and heated reklamadors started to pinch irritation to our benevolent ears. Complaining about the hot-heat every summer, yeah, cross your Malayan-browned fingers for the next summer there will be a snowfall, hurrah, should that lock the gibberish mouth of the reklamadors, hmmm, hope so.

For apparent reason, definitely it will not. Give them fifteen to 20 minutes enjoying the icy-white colds and after that prepare your bothered ears for a tremendous doom. Natural born reklamadors will always be, unquestionably a great reklamadors, sure they will highly toss and toss tremendous grumble and grouse, complaining its sudden gross change in the weather conditions, and will raise an eyebrows to that abnormalities, imagine snow in summer? Or, maybe perhaps, they will summon its too much coldness in the change front, blame the government and condemn the president. What a crazy world, dude, what an old aging mutating world.

Okay, just to save our bothered and bleeding ears from unending blood sheds, we isolate ourselves from every human creature suspect of complaining, feels like mutant, not the ninja turtles but with Professor X, nice idea, huh? We backpack bundle of Super Dry with some plastic-wrapped mani and chili-crunchy 100 gms. barbeque-flavored Boy Bawang, (oops, don't forget the suka with crashed siling labuyo, pinch of salt and garlic) and hurriedly like-fugitives (mutants, whatever) trek to the nearest land field where the only aged mangga trees and its cool shades are waiting. Let's drink to that, we all need some time of stillness for our ears for a while, right? No more reklamos for a moment or two, no more grubby and grouchy reklamador's looks, just a merry-drinking of ice-cold beer and a munch of packed pulutan under the shade of a mango tree. Hay, good thing when you're in the province, there's always a nice and quiet place for hiding out, not only for the reklamadors but as well as from the tyrant-bugging society.

So, everytime you feel tired and beat, and the world is starting to get you down, let's drink to that and climb up to where the air is fresh and sweet, far away from the hustling crowd and rat-race noise down in the busy stressing street. Hurrah, hik, hurrah!

ENSO's untitled human figure and angel drawing

JUST like an old antiquated cliché, funny how time really flies. I remember him at his early toddler age, when I was about to get my sketch pad and oil pastels to draw, he'll run as fast as he can towards me to get those blue, red and black pastels and a pad, and yes, he will also tries to draw whatever figures he want. Now he's a full-blown kid, a very talented and inquisitive 5-year old boy with much more like of myself. The way he looks, charmingly grins, smiles so sweetly like a cupid with a bow and the way he think of the world as his own spacious exultant playgound. His rounded-asian eyes, like mine, his lips pouted and red, traits and distinctions really close to his cool and surreal bohemian pop.

Now, my one and only son, Gabriel Renso is up to something that pinch a smile from me, cruising on the surreal creative and juicing the bohemian genes. Whenever he saw a pen or just a pencil and a piece of paper he will draw something from a stiff human figure up to a horrible monster he saw in his dreams, as well as in the animated movies we watched. Enso, at his early age is fond of drawing angels too, He already knows the four famous archangels, Michael, Uriel, Raphael and Gabriel, whom I got his real baptized christian name. Still, I am hoping that when Enso grows up he continue still, cruisin his surreal creativity and juicing up my bohemian genes. With what is happening around and circling in his inner senses, makes me feel so proud and pleased, good thing he got the driving engines of my genes.

Love Sonnet

TUESDAY, 5:21 PM - a piece of my thought howlin' inside my saddened lonely heart…and just let it burst…

HERE I stand beneath the dreams I left behind, whether stormy weather pushes it all back, no hope but a poignant sigh…

The sand in my time is darkened by the eclipse of changing society, will I ever spread again the wings of virility forsaken by the strokes of the divine…

Rains sweep my tears as I smolder the memoirs of my virginal soundness and daintiness, I look everywhere and found nothing only desolation and decay…

If summer sun brings me another dawn in my old and tired shaking hands, spare me a canvass and I'll show you the dreams I left behind…

TODAY is Holy Monday, the start of a Holy Week, a time of silence and reflection. When I was just a kid, my mother as well as the olds used to tell us that during these time, we have to be in silence because our dear God is suffering, oh my, we have to bear with him the whole holy week. As in no more laughter, no more pa-cute smile for a moment. We are like a full-metal androids during those time of reflection, obeying rules the tradition set, no taking of bath during Black Saturdays, no cutting of dirty nails during Good Friday, stay away from accidents, no extravagant dining and most of all obeying task every hour from the old dictators.

Today is a time of silence and reflection. We should stay in the house and pray. Maybe, just for our family who can't afford to pack up things and stuff food to trek up to the summer capital Baguio City and buy walis tambo or strawberry jams from the sisters in the Good Sheperd, or perhaps in the cool and cozy Tagaytay City to dine in and catch a glimpse of the overlooking Taal Lake, just like our neighbors used to do everytime our dear Lord is prickly suffering taking his cross crossing in every streets in the sin city. Then, a mammothed pop of question strikes my innocence, maybe it's all just an alibis my olds set up for austerity purposes, hey, who can afford to go to Baguio City during those early time the city is in her erectful popularity? Only the coños and the pa-tweetum gangs, doin' nothing out there in Baguio, littering words in Burnham Park or in Camp John Hay that is prickly irritating to our surreal bohemian ears. While our dear Lord is suffering, the gang are also bearing with Him, suffering from hangovers from the booze at the Cafe By The Ruins, or even perhaps, dancing the night away with busy colorful lights at Chaparal and the never-ending reklamos of a tiring walk anywhere, everywhere in the city, most especially at the Mines View Park, hhmmm, that's cool.

Today is Holy Monday, yes, a time of silence and reflection, just for a moment and I am with my kid, telling him to pause for awhile and reflect on all of the good things our dear Lord has done for both of us, giving his own life for his people, for me and most specially for him, my only dear. Today, we are going to Baguio City, not to mingle with the coños and the tweetums, but to take advantage of the long-weekend vacation, free from the stressing works and have a long free time alone with my kid. It's not that we informally pay no attention to the holy week of abstinence and reflection, but I snugly consider that God smiles when you remember and contemplate on Him everyday and not only during this week.
