PYEONGTAEK, South Korea - Pyeongtaek is a city in Gyeonggi Province in South Korea. Located in the southwestern part of Gyeonggi, Pyeongtaek is a newly developed port city, founded in 1986. Pyeongtaek is also located in the northern area end of Songtan, Gyeonggido, South Korea. Songtan achieved city status in its own right in the 1980s, but was merged, along with Pyeongtaek County, into Pyeongtaek City in 1996.

Like any other new towns and neighbourhoods in Singapore, it is a densely populated district and is home to a rather diverse group of different races.
